Check Out the New Enemies in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade | COGconnected

Enter Deepground

We are about a month away from the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade and the bonus DLC episode introducing Yuffie Kisaragi. A brand new and final trailer was released today, which shed some light on what players will be able to expect from this new episode. The story gives Yuffie’s introduction a bit of a rewrite for those who played the original Final Fantasy VII, but there are also events that tie-in to Dirge of Cerberus; the forgotten third-person shooter of the series.

Along with more footage of the improved visuals of Intergrade, we see Yuffie and her companion, Sonon Kusakube take on a SOLDIER offshoot called Deepground, which was the antagonizing force in Dirge of Cerberus. They are led by Wiess the Immaculate, who will appear as a secret boss in the Shinra Combat Simulator and wields sweet gunblades. Yuffie will face off against Nero the Sable, Wiess’ younger brother who has control over darkness. Nero and Wiess are both Tsviets, who are an elite group within Deepground that appear in Dirge of Cerberus. We have only seen Wiess and Nero in the trailer, but other Tsviets include Shelke the Transparent, Rosso the Crimson, and Azul the Cerulean.

Also shown in the new trailer is the Fort Condor minigame. Players of the original game may remember the tower-defense minigame Fort Condor, where players defend the location of the same name. The revamped version of Fort Condor appears to be an in-game tabletop board game that players can take part in. It seems to use similar elements of the original with new features. These are just some of the new aspects being added in Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade which comes out on June 10th for PS5.
