EA’s Knockout City Holding Free Online 10-Day Block Party | COGconnected

Knock City, B*tch, Knockout City

For a few months now, EA has been building up to the launch of what they call a “dodgebrawl” game called Knockout City. They have had a few betas and trials, and now it seems they are ready for something substantially bigger before the official launch. What is being described as a “block party” is a 10-day free trial for anyone and everyone. Regardless of platform, fans will be able to join in on the festivities, kind of like a digital Frosh Week, minus the drinking.

If you haven’t been paying attention, Knockout City is like an arena brawler mixed with a team sport. You and up to two teammates face off against another team and give them a proverbial welcome them to Knockout City. You can pick up a variety of special balls, each with different purposes and effects, throw them, pass them, fake out, as well as catch incoming attacks, dodge, and tackle. It also wouldn’t be an EA game if there weren’t a marketplace for microtransactions. To that end, there is a ton of stylish customization options to set your character apart from the other players.

Starting on May 21st, servers for Knockout City will go live. Every subsequent day will have a new chance for the players to interact with the development team and online community, whether that is through a stream or playing online. There will also be content added like new maps and a community tournament to close out the 10 days. On May 31st, the block party will end and the game will officially launch on June 1st. Knockout City will be out on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, and will be on EA Play and Xbox Game Pass at launch.
