Saints Row: The Third Remastered is Getting a Free Next-Gen Update | COGconnected

Greater Performance Settings Than We’ve Ever Seen Before

Saints Row: The Third is the stand-out title in the series, so it’s a little odd that the remaster only appeared on PS4 and Xbox One earlier this month. As it turns out, the delay was because Deep Silver was getting the game ready for a free next-gen upgrade, meaning that Saints Row: The Third Remastered isn’t just coming to PS4 and Xbox One–it’s coming to PS5 and Xbox Series S|X, too. The game will also be launching for PC over Steam and GOG.com in the next few days, meaning that the rest of May is going to be a busy one for Saints Row fans. Get ready to enjoy this over-the-top homage to crime, violence, and absurdity on better console hardware than ever.

The next-gen version of Saints Row: The Third Remastered will be offering players greater performance settings, much higher visual performance, and improved framerate. You can finally experience the game in dynamic 4k with 60 FPS. At high settings, the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X ports will even show performance comparable with the PC edition. That’s an achievement definitely worth taking note of.

Xbox Series S owners will be getting an additional bonus in the form of two exclusive modes: Performance Mode and Beauty Mode. The difference between them is simple–Performance Mode locks the gameplay to 60fps with a 1080 resolution while Beauty Mode locks the gameplay to standard 30fps but employs an upscaled 4K resolution. It’s up to you to decide which one you prefer. Gamers who already own Saints Row: The Third Remastered can get a free upgrade to next-gen consoles through Smart Delivery. This is guaranteed across PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, so don’t worry about having to buy the remaster again–it’ll come to you.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered will be available digitally for next-gen consoles on May 25th, 2021, with the Steam and GOG PC version launching on May 22nd.
