Kerbal Space Program 1 and 2 Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S | COGconnected

Clear For Takeoff

Can you believe it? Kerbal Space Program turned 10 years old just a couple of days ago. The game has had quite a number of significant releases including the first public version in 2011, the official launch in 2015 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2016, and then the Enhanced Version in 2018. Fans are waiting still waiting for the follow up, Kerbal Space Program 2, but in the meantime, the first game will have one more release. This Fall, Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Developer Squad says that the game’s performance will be boosted on the new consoles. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, the resolution will be 1440p and will run at an improved framerate over the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Xbox Series S will hit 1080p and also have improved framerate. Owners of the Enhanced Edition on PS4 or Xbox One will get free upgrades in their respective console family, but no mention of owners of the original version of the game, so they may be left high and dry.

Now for the sequel. Kerbal Space Program 2 was meant to be released this Fall as well, but those plans changed last year. Squad reiterated their plans to have the game launch in 2022, but again, no specific date was given. The supporting platforms will include PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, so that’s good news, if it was not already assumed. Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S this Fall. Kerbal Space Program 2 will be out in 2022.
