Rust Brings The Fight For Survival to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Fight To Survive

Rust, developed by Facepunch Studio, originally released into Early Access on the PC via Steam in 2013 and officially launched in 2018. Since then, the game has sold almost five million copies, still has consistent updates and the studio has even launched a Companion App for the players to coordinate with their team, receive alerts in case of a raid, set traps and more. Suffice to say, Rust has grown into a highly sought after video game and has done well on PC, with an almost cult-like fanbase. With the success of Rust on PC, it was only a matter of time before it was ported over to the consoles. Developer and publisher Double Eleven have officially released the console version of Rust for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and it marks the first time that the survival game is available on any platform besides PC.

The developers have promised that Rust has been optimized for the consoles and will feature crossplay between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms. In Rust, players wake up in a post-apocalyptic island and must find a way to survive as everything else, including approximately one hundred other players, probably want you dead. Thirst, hunger, the elements, clothing and safety against hostile forces are all considerations for the player. Furthermore, adventurers must decide early on whether they will venture through the journey alone, or whether they would rather team up with other players to grow an arsenal and a home for survival.

At the moment, the Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate Edition are available for the console versions of the game, with scaling benefits as the price rises. The Standard Edition retails at USD$49.99 while the Deluxe Edition is priced at USD$59.99 and the Ultimate Edition, with the most benefits such as an Ultimate Weapon Pack, Rust Coins and an Elite Combat Pack, goes for USD$79.99.
