EA Play Live Set to Bring Major Announcements and Reveals in July

Expectations and Hype

Electronic Arts has been at the forefront of the gaming industry for decades and is currently the publisher of top-tier, popular video games such as Need for Speed, Apex Legends, Battlefield, Star Wars: Squadrons as well as Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and of course, a host of sports games under its catalogue of EA:Sports including UFC, FIFA, Madden and NHL. Simply put, Electronic Arts’ stable of video games has attracted billions of players and fans worldwide and perpetual releases and new announcements are of importance to the community on a large scale. With that being said, Electronic Arts have confirmed that its video game showcase, EA Play Live, is officially set to take place on 22nd July 2021.

Information at this point is sparse, but due to the pandemic and the changes made to other showcases like E3, it can be assumed that EA Play Live will also be available online and via a streaming platform, either for free or at a small fee. Furthermore, EA has not confirmed which games will take the limelight or whether to expect new announcements and have simply stated “more details coming soon.”

Fans are expecting announcements for the staple games in the lineup such as FIFA, Madden and some more features from Apex Legends. Other potential announcements may include further Battlefield 6 information that fans have been patiently awaiting as well as more details on Dragon Age and Skate, games that were previously announced by EA. Furthermore, EA may seek to showcase some of the work developed by companies that it recently acquired such as Codemasters and Metalhead. Last year, in June 2020 during EA Play, the company announced It Takes Two, provided some footage of FIFA 21 and Madden 21 and showed some Star Wars: Squadron gameplay.

What do you expect for this year? Will this year’s announcement top last years’? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter and Facebook.
